THE HOMELESS SHELTER

The "Santa Madre" Homeless Shelter of Antigua, Guatemala, will be open to anyone who needs a safe, clean, and dignifying place to stay for the night. This is a networked shelter, and includes the involvement of many different concerned people and charities, which include the Municipality of Antigua, the Guatemalan charity Asociación Nuestros Ahijados, and The GOD'S CHILD Project.


Phase Two provides additional housing, additional bathrooms, an on-site medical clinic, classrooms, and workshop space for the training of technical and artisan skills.

Phase Three provides for additional housing, additional bathrooms, an on-site dental clinic, large meeting spaces for group functions such as AA, NA, and AlaTeen, and additional development to be determined in the course of this project.
Phase One provides dormitory housing for 52 - 104 men, women, and unaccompanied minors, separated by sexes and ages, in addition to a kitchen, dining room, a storage room, and bathrooms that include wash pilas, sinks, toilets, and showers.
